Coach Sam's All Star Alumni Tournament Series

Coach Sam's All Star Tennis Alumni Tournament Series
established June, 2010

ABOUT THIS CIRCUIT:  This event series is the result of an evolution of thought processes. As I considered the many teams, areas, and groups I have worked with over the course of my twenty-one year coaching career I wanted to create an event or a series of events that would encompass all of the many tennis connections I have made.  The All Star Alumni Series is an invitational event consisting of current and former local area high school players, home schoolers, parents, and anyone who has been associated with my tennis programs over the years.

The pilot event in June 2010 was highly successful, but it was determined that subsequent series events would be held in the fall and spring. The next event is scheduled for November 19-20 following the completion of most local high school fall tennis seasons.

HALL of FAME HONORS:  Beginning with the Novemebr 19th event, each tournament will honor one or two former local high school tennis stars or coaches with a brief celebrity 'Roast'  and the presentation of a memorial placque recognizing  their tennis career.  Won’t you please consider nominating a player or coach for ‘Hall of Fame’ induction?  To nominate someone simply email me a message stating who you nominate and why.  Please encourage other former players familiar with your nominee to message me as well.

A GENERATIONAL TEAM TENNIS FORMAT:  Each tournament will be comprised of two days of events, a ‘Friday Night Meet & Greet Party’ with an optional hit-around mixer, and a ‘Fun & Competitive One Day Tournament’ on Saturday. Players will have the option to play singles, doubles, or mixed doubles. Divisions will be flighted by skill and experience level when possible.

How The Tournament Series Works:   This is a team event.  Players accumulate points for their team in the Friday Mixer merely by participating. On Saturday points are accumulated by matches and sets won.  At the conclusion of play, points will be totaled and a team award is presented.
